I recently completed Len's AP 1 and AP2 course in Texas. I esentially went to the course with limited pistol experience and not knowing what too expect. Len instructed me for one week of intense training and took an individual who started by figuring out how to put on a holster and created an individual who was making consistent hits on the targets from distances that I hadn't ever considered. I had been told that Len's talent for instruction was above average before the course. After the course it became apparent that was an understatement. Len's ability to instruct is exceptional. His personality and character is genuine and this comes across with his teaching techniques allowing students to excel at a pace I know that I didn't believe I had. The courses are only part the experience that Len showed myself and the crew I was with. His hospitality while we were in Texas was beyond what I would have expected from a friend and Len had just met most of us. To say Len is a world class instructor is absolutely true. I will take any course with Len that I can and I will never doubt that every penny will be worth it. After my week at the TDSA I can say with confidence that I recommend not just AP1 and AP2 but any course taught by Len as I believe it would exceed student expectations.K. Barrett

Thanks to Len, Leonard, Scott a/k/a Streetfighter and to our own Lin (yes, we have Len, Lin, and Leonard instructing/assisting at the same time) for teaching this class. I’ve been shooting handguns for 19 years, with police and corrections basic academy firearms training and law enforcement firearms instructor certifications from the Ky. Dept. of Criminal Justice Training, Ky. Dept. of Corrections and NRA Law Enforcement Activities Division – this is by far the best training I have ever had. These classes are hard and they’re not for complete beginners - when Len says “advanced” he means “advanced” – this is the kind of training that you can take after many years of shooting, training, competing, etc. and still improve your shooting dramatically (as several students with a lot of competition/police/etc. experience found out). Len is truly a great instructor with the ability to see what you are doing wrong and fix it (even if what you're doing wrong is shooting a crappy gun). We all appreciated the way he teaches in detail, without taking anything for granted.Brenn Combs

First, I would like to give Len, Leonard and Streetfighter a big thanks for coming to Kentucky. The AP2 class was excellent, if you want to learn how to be smooth and efficient in your movements this is the course to take. My improvement in this class was 44%, my pretest time was 23. something seconds and my best time on second day was a little over 13 seconds. Len is very good at what he does which is making everyone better than when they started. I highly recommend AP1 and AP2 for those looking to improve speed, accuracy, and ability to move proficiently. Thanks again!Paul King

AP1, AP2 I took my first TDSA AP1 course last year and credit it with getting me from 66th in 2004 to 6th in 2005 in our annual GSSF match. In this course you will be shown all the fundamentals of good pistol shooting be it for competition, law-enforcement or self-defense. There is so much good information that when given the opportunity I decided to take the course again and can honestly say I am glad I did. AP2 is all about movement being aimed primarily at the competitive (USPSA, IDPA) shooter. In this course you are shown how to negotiate a stage and save valuable seconds while at the same time increasing the probability of making good hits. In both courses I found Len to be an exceptionally gifted instructor with an uncanny knack for diagnosing problems and suggesting ways to fix them. He is also willing to take the time to work with those of us who are challenged in terms of distinguishing left from right. Furthermore Len is aided by some first-rate assistant instructors. In summary I rate both courses as excellent and difficult to beat at any price. The only warning is to exercise caution in selecting the model of pistol you bring to a TDSA class as Len is only to willing to offer his opinions about the relative merits of each design. A clue to an approved brand can be found in the TDSA logo.R. Frank Cook

Just got home from Ky. boys, had a great time with everyone. And again Len kicked some ass. Bringing to the table some of the most cutting edge teaching i think you can get. Watching everyone improve that much was a great thrill. You dont have to be someone with special powers to become a great shooter under Len's watchful eye. If you really want to become a true shooter call my friend, you wont be disappointed, but he is not a streetfighter. Had to be there!Canunk

Class AP2 I walked in to the class with (FWIW) An Open mind, 9 Yrs Law Enforcement, 16 yrs Competition Pistol Shooting (Action Pistol – USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge), And the desire to learn to move better – Cause faster ain’t an option (Pass the sausage gravy Please) I have taken instruction from several other schools and qualified individuals. While I have taken something away from every class – the TDSA classes stands out. The class is motivated, very up beat and the approach is very pragmatic (small steps leads to bigger steps). The stand out part of the class is how much everyone in the class improves regardless of skill level to start. I was able to shave 5 seconds off an 18 round course of fire with only 2 movements and 3 set ups. (18 seconds to 13 seconds) - Freak’n Awsome Class – This student walked way with an education – Many ThanxSmooth is Fast - Scott do u know how to street fight AAAAAAAAAA - Stay Safe

Len's Instruction and and teaching style are hands down the best I have experinced. He would not let me rest if I done a good job, because there was more that I could do to get more accurate, and speed up at the same time. This was a Audit of AP1 and I will be back for more. Len's assistant instructors Lin, Scott, and Lenord are also great. But the best tool Len has is video, he can show you what you are doing wrong and show you how to correct it. THANKS Len.Jeff Turner
