Handgun Courses
|
| Advanced Pistol I |
| By far, the most unique handgun training course taught today, and
the foundation of all handgun training at TDSA. Shooters of all skill levels will
benefit from this course, as great emphasis is placed on proper grip, body position, and
trigger control. These fundamental elements will allow the student to significantly
increase their shooting speed while maintaining accuracy, even while on the move.
Also covered are handgun reloading techniques, which are of benefit to both the
competitive and the defensive shooter. If your schedule
allows for only one handgun course, make sure that this is the one you take. You
will notice a definite improvement in your shooting. |
| Advanced Pistol II |
| This course is designed as an extension of the Advanced Pistol I
course, with the added elements of shooting while moving and shooting from
barricades. Because shooting is an upper body skill, the student will quickly gain
the ability to maneuver in and around obstacles while maintaining speed and
accuracy. The ability to quickly move to and shoot from a barricade is a vital skill
for shooters involved in action shooting competition, as well as the defense-minded
student. For the competitive shooter, an increase in standings is a certain result. Two Day Course |
| Advanced Pistol III |
| This course is designed for the shooter who is dedicated to
advancing their competitive handgun skills. An extreme emphasis is placed on mental
preparation and conditioning. This course is a must for the shooter preparing for
serious action pistol competitions, including IPSC and IDPA. One Day Course |
| Advanced Pistol IV - Tactical Defensive Pistol |
| This course is designed for the student wishing to increase his/her
survivability rate in a lethal force confrontation. This course is for the serious
student wishing to train to perform well under very stressful conditions. The
student will experience hostile actors portraying suspects in lethal force
confrontations. Several of the lethal force confrontations will simulate actual
reported crimes involving car jackings, muggings, home invasions, and armed
robberies. This course is definitely not for the beginner, but best taken after the
Advanced Pistol II course. One Day Course |
| Advanced Law Enforcement Tactical Pistol |
| This course is designed for the law enforcement officer wishing to
train under realistic physical-force confrontations requiring the utilization of tactics
and firearms for self-defense. The officer will be put through stress-inducing
shooting scenarios. Training will culminate with live actor shoot/don't shoot lethal
force scenarios. All actors are TDSA staff, and are trained to act and respond
accordingly in these lethal force scenarios. TDSA does not
attempt to train any officer in the determination of deadly force encounters. TDSA's
goal is to train the officer in the most efficient manner in which to utilize the pistol
to defend him/herself once the situation warrants deadly force. |
| Ladies Class |
| This is a beginners class for ladies only. Ladies often want to
learn about handguns and/or become more proficient with a handgun, but don't want to do it
in the presence of other male shooters, and/or their significant others. If you fit that
description, then this is the class for you. Follow this link for detailed information (including price) on the Ladies Class One Day Course |
Shotgun Courses
|
| Advanced Shotgun I |
| The student will develop the proper techniques to rapidly operate
the slide-action and semi-auto shotgun. As with the Advanced Pistol I course,
emphasis is placed on proper body position and trigger control. Most students who
complete this course are astonished with how fast and accurately they can operate their
shotgun. One Day Course |
| Advanced Shotgun II |
| The student will take his basic shotgun skills mobile. Moving
while shooting and reloading the shotgun will become second-nature by the end of the
course. Also shooting in and around cover with the shotgun will be addressed, in
conjunction with transitioning to your back-up or sidearm. One Day Course |
Sub-gun Courses |
| Advanced Sub-gun |
| Student will learn the correct techniques fundamental to swiftly
operating the submachine gun. Mounting, slinging, and body positioning are crucial
to this equation and are drilled extensively during this course. If maximum operator
speed and accuracy are your goals, this course is a must. Anyone carrying a sub-gun
as a duty weapon cannot afford to miss this course. One Day Course |
| Advanced Law Enforcement Tactical Sub-gun (L.E. Only) |
| This course is designed for the Special Weapons and Tactics officer
who carries the sub-gun as a primary entry weapon. Close-quarters operation is the
focus of this course. Beginning with point-blank firing, the course moves into
vehicle-involved situations and progresses to dynamic entry situations. Great
emphasis is placed on target identification. TDSA does not
attempt to train any officer in the determination of deadly force encounters. TDSA's
goal is to train the officer in the most efficient manner in which to utilize the sub-gun
to defend him/herself once the situation warrants deadly force. |
